A public forum to hear presentations and ask questions on four proposed affordable housing projects has been set for next week.

Dene Buffington

A celebration of the life of Dene Buffington, a 99-year-old Buffalo resident who passed away quietly January 22 at the Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo, will be held by her family at a time to be announced. Donations in Dene’s memory may be made to the Johnson County Fairgrounds Foundation in care of the Harness Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo.

More than 1,000 attend funeral for Hardin girl AP-MT

More than 1,000 people attended the funeral for a 16-year-old girl who died of hypothermia after reportedly walking away from an Interstate 90 rest stop on New Year's Day. The body of Selena Not Afraid was found on Jan. 20.

Sheridan Memorial Hospital Receives Accreditation from the American College of Cardiology

Sheridan Memorial Hospital announced Monday that the American College of Cardiology (ACC) has awarded Memorial Hospital the Heart Failure Accreditation based on the hospital’s competence and specific standards that are in place to provide excellent care to patients with heart failure.

Elks District Hoop Shoot Results

The NE District Hoop Shoot was held In Casper on Saturday, January 25.

Four of the six boys and girls representing the Sheridan Elks Lodge won first place in their age group.

This makes them eligible to participate in the State Hoop Shoot. The Sheridan participants were: (scores are out of 25 free throws)

Girls 8-9 Bella Heizer first place score 8
Girls 10-11 Ella Bilyeu first place score 19
Girls 12-13 Grace Finkle first place score 17

Boys 8-9 Landon Calentine third place score 19 with a tie breaker of 3
Boys 10-11 Colton Philip first place score 14
