Nine lightning fires were reported on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation near Lame Deer, MT on Sunday and thanks to fire crews hard work and some help from mother nature in the form of rain, progress has been made.

According to a BIA release, there are several fires currently burning in the Lame Deer, MT area. Bureau of Indian Affairs Officials say that these wildfires are the result of a lightning burst Sunday evening on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation.

The home in Lodge Grass, Montana where the triple homicide that occurred last week took place has been destroyed by a fire. According to KTVQ.com FBI Supervisory Senior Resident Agent Travis Burrows said the house was burned "to the ground" early Tuesday morning.
