Firefighters from all six Sheridan County fire departments gathered in the parking lot of the old Country Kitchen/Common Cents building in north Sheridan for training in automobile extrication Saturday morning.

A preschool program for 3-year-olds will be added to Sheridan County School District 1's offerings in Big Horn.

In 1891, according to Helen Laumann, two men – John Thurston and Dan Starbird – charged with harvesting timber for the railroad went up into the Big Horn Mountains looking for suitable timber to harvest.

School District 1 Logs 88 Percent Graduation Rate

The graduation rate for the two high schools in Sheridan County School District 1 averaged 88 percent, about 6 percent above the statewide average as reported recently by the Wyoming Department of Education.
