Captain Green Talks House Move

On Wednesday, Highway 335 in and around Big Horn was closed so that a house could be moved to it’s new destination. The logistics of this move required the collaboration of many entities and was expected to take several hours according to Wyoming Highway Patrol Captain Jason Green.

Captain Green said that one of the biggest factors in why the endeavor was expected to take a large quantity of time was the fact that the home was too large to be moved under the power lines and thus the Montana Dakota Utilities crew had to facilitate taking them down and replacing them after it was moved past.

The expected time slot for this move was from 8:30am-3pm and the closure would have affected motorists traveling that roadway. Green said that thanks to the hard work of the crews involved and the absence of any mishaps in the process, the house was placed in it’s new resting place over 2 hours earlier than projected.
