An agreement between Sheridan County and Sustainable Forestry Consulting, Inc. of Buffalo has been approved by the county commission for fuel mitigation work in the Story area.

The contractor, according to the agreement, will help the county to develop and execute fuels mitigation projects in and around Story, funded through a USDA grant program.

The county agrees to pay the contractor $25 per hour and to reimburse mileage and other expenses, with total payments under the grant program not to exceed $50,000.

An agreement approved back in August between the county and the State of Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investments Forestry Division accessed the $50,000 in funding from the USDA's Western Wildland Urban Interface program.

The agreement between the county and Sustainable Forestry Consulting is effective from October 18th of this year through January 8th of 2023.
