Sheriff U. A. C. Thomas has engaged attorney E. E. Lonabaugh to represent him in a battle in court against suits that would compel him to return liquor that he has seized.

Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Bowman of Dayton are in Sheridan today attending to business matters. They came to the city yesterday and are guests at the Western hotel.

Clyde Zook underwent a successful operation for appendicitis at the hospital in Sheridan today after being carted in a bobsled across the frozen roads from Clearmont.

N. P. Yentz is in Sheridan today from his ranch on Rapid creek.
