A Look Back in Time: July 1, 1919

Now here's Sheridan Media's look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on July 1, 1919.

A wild and riotous night marked the passing of Old John Barleycorn in Sheridan last night. Well supplied stocks of liquor in all establishments which, until midnight, were known as saloons, have disappeared. All but seven saloons sold out stocks long before midnight.

J.F. Horton and family of Clearmont are shopping in Sheridan today.

Owen Teague of Dayton is visiting in Sheridan today.

George M. Ostrom, a member of the 148th Field Artillery who returned Saturday from Fort Russell, has resumed his position with the Sheridan Clothing company. Ostrom saw service on the Mexican border and in France.
