A Look Back in Time: Oct. 16, 1919

Now here's Sheridan Media's look back in time, to 100 years ago, as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on Oct. 16, 1919.

The Custer Battlefield Hiway is an accomplished fact, nearly 1,500 miles in length, stretching from Omaha to Glacier National Park, thanks to completions made at a convention in Sheridan of boosters along the route.

Between 10,000 and 12,000 miners in Wyoming will join in the strike, including 1,600 in Sheridan County. The strike order is an effort to secure a 60 percent increase in pay, a six-hour day and a five-day week.

R.E. Brown has purchased the ranch of W.H. Schrieber at Story. Mr. Schieber expects to spend the winter in California.
