Donations of $75,000 from the Homer and Janet Scott Foundation and $10,000 from the Booster Club were announced at the meeting of Sheridan County School District 2 trustees Monday night.

Don Julian, who's the Sheridan High School activities director, said the Booster Club funds were to help install the sound system at the high school's stadium.

He said funds from the Scott Foundation were for after school programs and activity programs at all of the district's schools.

He talked about what those donations mean.

In addition to announcing the donations, Julian introduced members of the high school's state championship boys' cross country team.

In other matters Monday night, District 2 trustees awarded the bid for renovations to the Sheridan High School Science Wing. The contract went to O'Dell Construction of Sheridan. Total contract price is just over $3.47 million.

Mathers Heuck, the district's facilities director, said the district got excellent pricing for the project.

Trustees also approved several policies during the meeting and heard reports from the principals of Story Elementary and the district's secondary schools on school improvement plans for this year.
