Big Game Hunting Season For Much Of The Region Starts Tomorrow

Big game hunting season got underway October 1st for much of the area east of Interstate 90. Tomorrow more big game hunting will open in our area. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has more.

Can You Make Your Fuel-Efficient Transportation Street Legal?

Gasoline prices have stabilized this year around $2.60-a-gallon in Wyoming. This is a far cry from the $4.00-a-gallon seen just over a year ago but it’s still high enough to make us keep looking for alternate transportation. Several automakers are developing electrically powered vehicles. In some areas consumers are taking steps to move away from gasoline dependence on their own.

Local Legislator Talks About The Upcoming Budget Session

The state legislature will have their work cut out for them when they convene in February for the budget session. State Representative John Patton appeared on KROE'S Public Pulse program Tuesday and he addressed the topic of preparing for a tough budget session in 2010.

The state budget session will convene in Cheyenne February 8th 2010.

Marjorie Porter

Marjorie Porter, age 93, a former Sheridan, WY resident died Tuesday, October 6, 2009, in Thermopolis Rehab Center, Thermopolis, WY.

Marjorie was born August 22, 1915, in Sheridan to George & Mary (Stevie) Herron.

Marjorie grew up in Sheridan and had been a retail clerk for a time. She was disabled most of her life.

Marjorie is survived by some nieces, nephews and cousin.

SHS Volleyball and JV Football Update

The Lady Bronc volleyball team will play Cheyenne East Friday evening the Sophomore and JV matches will be played at 4 o'clock with the Varsity match starting at 5 o'clock.

The Sheridan Bronc JV football team has a game change.
The JV's were scheduled to play at Billings Senior high school Monday afternoon the game has been changed to Tuesday at 4:30.

Sheridan County Sheriff Canceling Wednesday's Fingerprinting / ID Service

Sheridan County Sheriff Dave Hofmeier would like the public to know that his office will not be conducting fingerprinting and Identification production tomorrow, October 14th, as some of his staff will be out. The office will be back to providing that service on Friday, October 16th.

RAMS FOOTBALL - The Big Horn Rams made up their postponed game with Moorcroft last night, and for the Rams it was worth the wait as they dominated the Wolves. The Rams jumped out to a 20-0 halftime lead and went on to shut out Moorcroft 38-0. The Rams playoff chances remain alive, but they must win their final two games.
