Rec. Board Finalizes Bid Approval For Scoreboards At Sheridan College Softball Fields

The Sheridan Recreation District Board of Trustees approved a bid at their meeting last night that will allow for three new scoreboards at the community softball complex at Sheridan College. Sheridan Recreation District Director Richard Wright.

Former Wyoming Governor and U.S. Senator Clifford P. Hansen passed away at his home in Jackson Tuesday night at the age of 97. Governor Dave Freudenthal says Hansen will be missed by many.

Car Accident Near Buffalo Tuesday Claims The Life Of a Sheridan Woman

44-year old Joan M. Baumann of Sheridan died in a car accident Tuesday afternoon on Interstate I-90 two miles east of Buffalo in Johnson County. A news release from the Wyoming Highway Patrol states that the accident occurred at 4:23pm Tuesday when a vehicle driven by 18-year old Cara D. Underwood of Danville, Kentucky attempted to pass Baumann's vehicle.

Bruce M. Baker

Bruce M. Baker, 63, of Sheridan, WY died Saturday, October 17, 2009, in his Sheridan home.

Bruce was born September 30, 1946, in Sheridan to Joseph & Merle (Jenkins) Baker.

Bruce grew up and attended schools in Sheridan. He served in the U.S. Navy. He worked for many years in the oil fields of Alaska. He returned to Sheridan in 1997.

NTSB Has Issued Initial Report on Fatal Plane Crash

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - Investigators say in a preliminary report issued Tuesday that weather conditions were poor at the time of last week's plane crash that killed two men near Pryor.

STATE CROSS-COUNTRY - The Broncs and Lady Broncs have three more days of practice before the State Championships run Saturday. Both teams are expected to do very well for the girls. Dana Morin and Lela Carpenter have been strong all season. Head coach Art Baures says they just have to do what's made them two of the best runners in the state.

Smaller Towns Request Alteration Of Cap Tax Distribution

The Sheridan County Commissioners reviewed a request to alter the way the Capital Facilities Tax revenues are dispersed. The waiver was the same one tabled by the Sheridan City Council on Monday. Sheridan County Commissioner Bob Rolston explains why the County approved the request.

Tongue River High School To Undergo Minor Remodeling Over The Holidays

The brand new Tongue River High School will undergo a minor remodeling during the holiday break this year. Moisture in the concrete as it cured kept tiles from sticking to the floor of the commons area.

Sheridan County School District #1 Recognized Outstanding Instructors

The Sheridan County School District 1 Board of Trustees recognized several teachers for special awards they’ve recently received at their October board meeting last night. Superintendent Sue Belish says those educators will have a place on the District “Wall of Fame.”
