Community Holiday Dinner Is Sunday December 6th

The Community Holiday Dinner in Sheridan is a tradition that has spanned nearly two decades. When the first dinner took place in 1991, it served 385 people. Those numbers have grown substantially over the years as now the dinner averages well over a thousand.

Republican Women Of Sheridan County To Host Christmas Party For Local Military Families

The Republican Women of Sheridan County are doing something special this year for local military families, as they will be hosting a Christmas Party Saturday December 12th. Event Co-Chair Eda Thompson explains the inspiration behind the Christmas Party.

Wyoming Part Of Merrill Lynch Settlement

CHEYENNE, (AP) - The Wyoming Secretary of State's Office has ordered Merrill Lynch to pay a fine for allegedly misleading investors about the auction rate securities market. Secretary of State Max Maxfield said Monday that a multi-state task force negotiated a total settlement of $125 million with Merrill Lynch. Wyoming's portion is $266,255.

Missing Couple Found In Big Horn Mountains

A Buffalo couple left Friday for an outing in the Bighorn Mountains and was reported missing by family on Saturday afternoon. No one had been told where they were heading so Sheridan County Deputies had very little to go on when they began to search for Danny Cox and Amanda Galloway.

Sheridan County Jobless Rate Jumps Dramatically In October

Talk of a strengthening economy is falling on deaf ears of many in Wyoming. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Wyoming jumped from 6.8% in September to 7.4% in October. Here in Sheridan County the rate made a larger move from 6.6% to 7.3% in October. Sheridan Workforce Center Supervisor Chanda Richards says there are jobs available.

Christmas Decorations Subject Of Holiday Contest

While most people were drinking hot chocolate, eating chili and hot dogs, and shopping, a select few were taking special note of holiday decorations. The Annual Christmas Stroll Lighting and Decorating contest culminated with the stroll events Friday night.

Christmas Stroll Actually Lasts Throughout Most Of December

Over 3000 Sheridan Christmas Stroll buttons were printed this year. Most of them were already sold by Stroll, last week. While there still may be a few left, there is plenty of time left to participate in the button contest. Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce Director Janelle Martinsen.

Kenneth L. Mellinger, 56, of Sheridan, Wyoming, passed away on November 26th, 2009 at Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be 10:00 A. M. Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Phil Wold officiating. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
