There will be a special concert this Wednesday night at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Sheridan to help benefit a new Hope's Promise Home for Orphans in Nairobi, Kenya. Soprano Karen Clift will be joined by professional organist Samual Carabetta. St. Peter's pastor, Kevin Jones, says there are still tickets left for the concert.

The Wyoming Department of Family Services has announced that applications for the home heating help program are now available. LIEAP Program Manager Brenda Ilg says LIEAP helped a lot of households last year.

Ilg indicated that now is the time to get your application filled out.

CASPER, (AP) - A company near Casper expects to employ about 120 people after winning a contract to build temporary housing for workers putting in a natural gas pipeline.

El Paso Corporation awarded a $36 million contract to Teton Buildings to build two man camps for the proposed pipeline that would extend from the Opal Hub in southwest Wyoming to Portland, Oregon.

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - Organizers of a cleanup project on the North Platte River are at the same time elated and appalled.

They're elated that in three years, the Platte River Revival has removed more than 1 million pounds of trash from the river. But Jolene Martinez, the event's organizer, says a million pounds of trash in the river is nothing to glorify.

Wyoming Senator Mike Enzi sits on the Senate Finance Committee, and tomorrow, he and his colleagues may be hearing from a lot of women. First Lady Michelle Obama has challenged women to speak up about health care reform, pointing out that women are the primary decision-makers about health care, and they carry the heavier economic burden, too.

Former U.S. Senator Malcolm Wallop of Big Horn will have his name permanently associated with another landmark in the area. Earlier this year, the airport terminal at the Sheridan County Airport was re-named the Malcolm Wallop Terminal.

Smithsonian magazine will present the 5th Annual Museum Day on September 26th, and Bradford Brinton Memorial & Museum in Big Horn will be offering free admission all day.

Doors will be open free of charge to Smithsonian magazine readers and Smithsonian.com visitors at museums and cultural institutions nationwide.
