Legislative Committee Meeting In Sheridan Today

Sheridan College is hosting the Wyoming State Legislature’s Joint Labor, Health and Social Services Interim Committee meeting today. The committee will discuss the status of Federal stimulus funding as well as review the Medicaid provider reimbursement rates.

Black Bear Hunting Season Over Throughout Bighorn Mountains

The black bear hunting seasons for most of the Bighorn Mountains are now closed. Hunters harvested the quota of female bears in areas 3 and 4 last Friday. Earlier last week hunt areas 1 and 2 filled their quotas. It was a good season for black bear hunters as all four areas closed within a week of opening the fall season.

Dayton Town Council Awards Yard Of The Month And Most Improved Property

The Dayton Town Council met for their first meeting of September Tuesday night. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter was there.

An Afternoon In The Country Stone House Tour Is This Sunday

This Sunday, Roy and Nancy Garber are inviting the public to come out and tour their historic home two miles west of Big Horn at 509, Highway 335. The home was built by Roy's great grandfather, James Orr Willits in 1901 with rock hauled in from the nearby Big Horn mountains.

2nd Annual "Brewing Up History" Another Success

As part of the exhibit honoring the history of the Sheridan Brewery, the Sheridan County Museum last year held a beer tasting event. This year, it was even bigger and better, despite ominous thunder clouds and wind. Museum director, Dana Prater spoke with Sheridan Media's Mary Jo Johnson.
