Sheridan County adopted their comprehensive plan last year and they have been working to implement many of the recommendations made in the document. The plan encourages the preservation of open spaces as development occurs throughout the county. County Planner Mark Reid says the county is considering the allowance of cluster developments.

The Ranchester Town Council elected to table awarding the bid for a track loader at their meeting Tuesday night. Councilman Dennis Dunn called for the motion to table the item and he explains that he'd like more information on the equipment before making a decision.

Nicholas and Jennifer Edwards made their first appearance in Circuit Court on Tuesday. The husband and wife are charged with intent to distribute marijuana and felony child endangerment for having their 11-year-old son in the house while the couple used methamphetamine. Judge John Sampson set a $15,000 cash only bond on both of them.

The Wyoming Cancer Resource Services program is broken up into five different regions throughout the state. Region Two covers much of Northeast Wyoming, including Sheridan Johnson and Campbell counties. The program for Northeast Wyoming is fairly new, as it started in October of 2009.

There's no arguing that the slumping national economy has had its effect on Wyoming as state agencies and many municipalities have endured cuts in their respective budgets. Governor Dave Freudenthal says that the state's current economic situation isn't as grim as what some are making it out to be.

28-year-old Shawn Osborne made his initial appearance in Sheridan County Circuit Court on 1st Degree Murder charges Tuesday. Osborne was arrested Friday after Sheridan Police received a tip about the murder.

Law enforcement officers surrounded the trailer house at 1075 Bellevue Avenue and found the trailer’s owner, Dennis David, and Osborne inside.

Sheridan County Commissioners mirrored action taken by the Sheridan City Council this week and approved an adjusted service boundary for City sewer service.
