State Legislators Address Juvenlile Justice and Sex Offender Issues

Registered sex offenders in Wyoming couldn't move into residences close to schools under a bill advancing in the state House of Representatives. The House gave preliminary approval Friday to House Bill 83, sponsored by Representative Steve Harshman, a Republican from Casper.

Wyoming Receives First Hybrid School Bus

Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction, Dr. Jim McBride, and Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality Director, John Corra, celebrated the arrival of the first Diesel Hybrid school bus to Wyoming Friday.

Sheridan Housing Action Committee and First Interstate Bank Receive Grant

The Sheridan Housing Action Committee and First Interstate Bank were recently awarded $450,000 in Affordable Housing Program funding from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle. SHAC Executive Director Karin Spann says the funding will help aid a number of home buyers in the community.

Irene Kuncheff, 86, of Sheridan passed away at her home on February 19, 2010.

Funeral Mass will be at Holy Name Catholic Church, Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 10:00am with Father Ron Stolcis officiating. Visitation will be Monday, February 22, 6:00 – 7:00 pm at Kane Funeral Home with a Christian wake service at 7:00 pm. Burial at Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

A Local Writer Tells A WWII Story That Is Personal, Universal and Distinct

Her verve for literature, writing and teaching makes Jane Wohl an exceptionally radiant and charismatic teacher, who has passed these passions to many of her pupils during her roughly 30 years of instructing. Jane teaches English at Sheridan College among other things, and recently went on Sabbatical to focus on other areas of her work. She presented an excerpt at last night's NWCC meeting.

David C. Gleason

David C. Gleason, 50, of Sheridan, WY, died Sunday, February 14, 2010 at his residence.

David was born December 9, 1959 in Sheridan, WY to James I. and Darlene E. (Hayden) Gleason. He grew up and attended schools in Sheridan. David worked for Tucker’s Office Products for over 30 years, and was most recently employed by The Sheridan Press.

Karen Marie Reinholt

Karen Marie Reinholt, 51, of Sheridan, WY, died Friday, February 12, 2010 at her residence.

Mrs. Reinholt was born July 17, 1958 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Clinton E. and Pauline Elizabeth (Jones) Horsley.

She grew up outside Ranchester and went to school in Dayton, WY. Karen was a pipe layer for Shell Oil and managed a liquor store.
