BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - Yellowstone National Park is extending the public comment period on a plan to use air rifles to vaccinate wild bison against brucellosis, a disease that ranchers fear could spread to cattle. Park spokesman Al Nash said Friday that some residents of northeastern Montana were concerned the government was going to transfer vaccinated bison to their part of the state.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Dozens of environmental groups large and small are urging congressional leaders not to overlook onshore drilling amid debate over how to prevent another oil spill like the Gulf of Mexico disaster.

Sheridan County Attorney Matt Redle

Sheridan County Attorney Matt Redle has received the investigation report from the Wyoming Department of Audit and Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation regarding the investigation of misappropriation of funds at the Sheridan County Clerk's Office. Although the report has been reviewed by Redle, no official details have been released due to pending questions that Redle has about the report.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Authorities plan to analyze the harness and rope used by a climber who died after falling about 2,000 feet from a cliff during a thunderstorm in Grand Teton National Park. Searchers found the body of 21-year-old Brandon Oldenkamp, of Sanborn, Iowa on Thursday. His body has been taken to the Teton County coroner.

At the Sheridan County School District 2 July board meeting Wednesday evening, Director of District Curriculum, Scott Stults, gave a report about the Summer School programs for this year.

168 5th grade students attended summer school June 7th – July 2nd, receiving literacy instruction in the earlier morning and math instruction until noon five days each week.

The Sheridan County Fair Board is tightening their budget belts for the next year.

Economic times are tough for everyone and the Sheridan County Fair Board is also feeling the pinch. At their meeting Thursday night it was announced that their 2010-2011 operating budget for the fairgrounds is being cut. That cut amounts to $75,000 less than the half-million dollar budget they had to work with last year.

We've now heard the story that a $50,000 grant was awarded to CASA by the Sheridan County Commission this week. At least we've heard part of the story. More questions have been raised since our initial report about why CASA received all of the funds, while the applications from RENEW and the Center for Dispute Solutions were both dismissed.
