Troopers and Jets Advance to Play At Least One More

LEGION BASEBALL- The Sheridan Troopers advanced to play at least one more game at their regional tournament with a dominating performance Friday against Jackson, where the Troopers won 19-2. If the Troopers can beat Cody this afternoon at 1 pm, they will advance to the State Tournament next week at Thorne-Rider Stadium in Sheridan. The Sheridan Jets stayed alive Friday despite losing a close game to Cheyenne 9-6 at the State Tournament. The Jets will play a loser out game against Cody this morning at 10 am. If the Jets win, they will play again this afternoon at 4 o'clock.

Committee Drafts Extension of Wyoming Film Incentive

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A Wyoming legislative committee has proposed extending the state's Film Industry Financial Incentive Program. At a recent meeting in Sundance, the committee that deals with travel and recreation issues agreed to draft legislation that would push the program's expiration from 2011 to 2016.

GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) - Grand Teton National Park spent about $50,000 rescuing 16 injured climbers and recovering the body of another after a thunderstorm on Grand Teton mountain. Park spokeswoman Jackie Skaggs said Friday the costs included two helicopters, staff time and other expenses.

The Dogs Ruled Friday Night in Dayton 

It was the “dog days” of July in Dayton as over 25 pet parade entrants strutted their stuff Friday night at the Scott Bicentennial Park during the Kid’s Pet Parade, all a part of the Dayton Days Celebration going on this weekend.
