Sheridan Man Makes His Initial Appearance On Two Felony Counts

18-year-old Sheridan resident Patrick Mayfield had his initial appearance in Sheridan County Circuit Court Monday afternoon. Mayfield was arrested over the weekend on six different counts, including one Felony count of Larceny and one Felony count of Burglary.

Report Shows Coal Power Is Cleaning Up Its Act

The coal industry is cleaning up its act when it comes to air pollution, according to a new report from the Clean Air Task Force that outlines connections between coal-fired power plant emissions and premature deaths. In fact, the number of yearly deaths has been cut almost in half since the same report in 2004, and much of the coal burned in those plants comes from Wyoming.

GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) - A former Campbell County high school principal and an aide have been charged with using a district credit card to buy more than $1,600 worth of electronics and weight equipment for personal use. Larry Dean Steiger and Trudy Kay Garcia were charged Friday with three felony counts each of knowingly submitting a false claim or voucher.

Poll Question: Mountain West Conference Changes

The Mountain West Conference will see major changes to the team roster next year, losing longtime contenders BYU and Utah, and adding Fresno State, Boise State and Nevada. Utah will be a member of the Pac-10, and BYU recently announced that it is going independent beginning in June 2011, a move that didn't sit well with the other members of the Mountain West.
