Council Votes To Continue Pathways

Sheridan City Council voted 5-2 on a resolution awarding a construction bid for the Dow St. pathway at their regular bi-monthly council meeting Monday night. The proposal was tabled several weeks ago, after objections to the proposed pathway as outlined were brought forth by adjacent property owner Dr. Bateman.

Four of five Sheridan County commissioners attended the first regular meeting of September – Commissioner Mike Nickel was absent.

William “Buck” Neel

William “Buck” Neel, of Sheridan, WY, died at the V.A. Medical Center on September 5th, 2010.

Buck was born November 5, 1922 to Emanuel Baxter and Julia Ann (Jennings) Neel in Calico Rock, Arkansas.

9/11 Ceremony to be Observed Saturday

Fire personnel, law enforcement and search and rescue are represented at a previous 9/11 Ceremony in Sheridan.

In a media release from Sheridan Fire Marshall Brian Songer, he indicates that this Saturday morning, September 11th, the fire station will be the location for the annual September 11th Ceremony, marking the 9th Anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and the United Flight 93 that crashed in Shanksville, PA.

Ada Lou Brooks Yonkee

Ada Lou Brooks Yonkee, of Parkman and Sheridan, Wyoming, passed away on September 3, 2010 at the age of 70. Ada Lou was born in Sheridan to Adolph and Ruth (Brooks) Yonkee on October 28, 1939. She grew up on the family ranch near Parkman as well at their home in Sheridan.

Belicia Ann Bailey

Belicia Ann Bailey, infant daughter of Brandy Bailey, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2010, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Lee officiating. There will be a reception immediately following the service at the KOA Campground, 63 Decker Road, Sheridan, Wyoming.


Funeral service for Tingle Rossnagel Wenzel, 84 year old long time Buffalo resident who passed away quietly Monday morning at the Johnson County Health Care Center, surrounded by her family, will be held Thursday, Sept. 9th at 10:00 a.m. from the St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Buffalo with Reverend John Orwig officiating.


Graveside funeral services for Hal Sutton, 54 year old Barnum man who passed away Sunday at his ranch home in Barnum, will be held Saturday, Sept. 11th at 10:00 a.m. at his home with Reverend Bob McHenry officiating. Visitation will be held from the Adams Funeral Home Chapel on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
