The Sheridan Police Department recently applied for and received a Local Community Contribution Grant from Wal-Mart in the amount of $1,500. Sheridan Police Sergeant Tom Henry explains how the grant will be used.

Commissioners to Hear Building Permit Appeal Next Week

Sheridan County Commissioners have appointed Deputy County Attorney Lynn Smith as the Hearing Officer in a building permit fee appeal by Sheridan County resident Michael Fleming. The appeal is in regard to an evaluation of Mr. Fleming's building and subsequent request for a building permit.

During the recent Bronc football award night Sheridan senior Jordan Roberts emceed the presentation of a framed Bronc football jersey to Head Football Coach Don Julian. The number 23 represents Sheridan's 23rd State Football Championship. This achievement is perhaps among the reasons why Julian was named Fall Sports Coach of the Year for football by the Wyoming Coaches Association.

Don Julian - SHS Football Head Coach - guided the SHS football team to an 11 & 1 record taking the state championship title for the second time in three years . Note that Don is still wet from the gatorade bath the team gave him upon winning the 23rd championship on the field at Laramie.
Larry Martoglio - SHS Golf Head Coach - coached the SHS golf team to an undefeated season and the team's second state title in a row
Wendy Ruby - SHS Volleyball Head Coach - head coach of the state champion SHS volleyball team - the second ever title for Sheridan
Bob Faurot - SHS Tennis Head Coach - guided the Lady Bronc tennis team to a second place finish at state for the fifth straight year
Kevin Rizer - SHS Football Assistant Coach - offensive line coach of the champion SHS Bronc football team
The framed #23 Bronc Football Jersey still covered in plastic wrap that will proudly hang on one of Coach Julian's walls - walls that are rapidly filling up with awards.

Report Says Rural Wyoming Lacks Middle-Aged Residents

(WY News Service) -- A new report based on U.S. Census numbers says that rural Wyoming is lacking 20, 30 and 40-year-old residents.

Though the Kindle is not compatable with 3M e-books right now, Sheridan County Library Director Cameron Duff says he hopes there will be an agreement between 3M and Amazon by next summer allowing Kindle use with e-book checked out at Wyoming libraries. (Wikicommons photo)

The Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library expects to offer e-books early in 2012, thanks to a new three-year agreement between 3M and the Wyoming State Library.

GENERALS / LADY GENERALS LIVE TONIGHT IN THE HOFFMAN DOME

LADY GENERALS HOOPS - The Sheridan college basketball teams open conference play tonight. The Lady Generals are 9-2 the Generals are 11-0 both teams have already won games against Little Big Horn this season but tonight's games are big because they are conference games.

At 9-2 Lady Generals Head coach Frank McCarthy says they are in a good place right now.

Since losing point guard Jasmine Davis to a season ending knee injury the team has been able to move on and play pretty well.
