Stephen L. Meece, 59, of Sheridan, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2011 at Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 6:00 pm at Kane Funeral Home with a reception to follow in the Kane reception hall.

SHS Interns in Cheyenne

Four Sheridan High School students are interning this Legislative Session in Cheyenne. The first two are there now; Karsyn Lamb and McKenzie Butcher hit the capitol running January 26th.

Although Sheridanites take it for granted, 100-years ago the Trail End was still under construction. Started in 1908, the 13,748 square foot mansion was not occupied until July of 1913. It took about 1-ton of coal each winter day to heat the building - perhaps more on a day like today when February ushered in a -18 degree low temperature.
