They Walked for Disability Awareness

Many a walker showed up for the Wyoming Disability Awareness Walk this past weekend in Sheridan.

The 7th annual Disability Awareness Walk took place in various towns throughout Wyoming over the weekend. While it may have been the 7th annual, it was the first time that Sheridan participated in the walk.

All Out in Cody

This last Saturday March 26th the Sheridan Bronc track team went to Cody to compete in there first meet as a full team. All the athletes went out and competed as hard as they could to set there marks to beat later in the season. The Cody invite also has other incentives to do well. If they were JV the athletes that won their event got a free T-Shirt.

Helen Dorene Custis Rice, also known as “Toni”, age 84, of Sheridan, WY died Wednesday, March 23, 2011, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. She would have preferred to die scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef!

Saturday, March 19th, the United States joined an international coalition, sanctioned by the United Nations, to launch missile attacks on defense sights in Libya as a means to secure the “No-Fly” zone in the country.

Sheridan College had an outstanding performance this weekend. Three guys and three women qualify for the short go at the Eastern Wyoming college rodeo in Torrington this weekend. Ty Hiatt was 64 points in the long go as well as the short go giving him 128 points on two, winning the average in the saddle bronc riding.

In the Bareback riding, Shane Stevens was 66 points in the second go round, splitting 4th and 5th overall. Matt Schieck qulified for the short go in the team roping with his brother Brad with a time of 12.9.
