Lewis Street Bridge Reconstruction Project to Begin Next Summer

WYDOT hosted a public input meeting Tuesday on the Lewis Street Bridge reconstruction project.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation and the City of Sheridan have partnered for the Lewis Street Bridge reconstruction project that will begin next year. WYDOT held an open house Tuesday to give the public an opportunity to provide comment on the project.

Funeral services for Coleen Rule, 84 year old Buffalo woman who passed away Wednesday morning at her ranch home in Gillette, will be held Saturday, May 7th at 10:00 a.m. from the Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with Reverend Dr. Bob Miller officiating. Visitation will be held from the Adams Funeral Home on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.

The Sheridan County Commissioners Tuesday approved a request from the Powder River Community Center Board to have the County take ownership of the old Arvada Elementary School.

Sheridan Fire-Rescue conducted roof ventilation training

Sheridan Fire-Rescue conducted roof ventilation training at the former Big Horn Motors building at 5th and Main Streets Tuesday. Firefighters have been conducting various training evolutions since last week, including interior victim searches, firefighter self-rescue, and wall breeches. The training was made possible by building owner Dave Sorensen.

Firefighter/EMT Andy Lindberg uses a chainsaw to cut a ventilation hole in the roof of the former Big Horn Motors building at 5th and Main Streets. Firefighter/EMT Paul Juergens provides safety.

Dr. John A. Wilson, Sheridan veterinarian died on April 29, 2011 at age 68.

He was born on September 3, 1942 in Ft. Collins, CO. to Wilma M. Wilson, née Rowand, and John A. Wilson, Sr.


The Sheridan Storm U-14 boys took 1st place in the Stockman Bank Magic City Classic in Billings April 30-May 1.

They went 4-0 over the weekend.

Bison Teams Busy This Week

The Bison Track and Field Team participated in the Wyoming Track Classic on Monday, after the meet was postponed Friday because of weather and travel conditions.
The top finisher for Buffalo was Della Lyle, who took second in the girls' 3,200-meter run.
Isaac Keifer also finished in the top-five for the Bison, taking fourth in the boys' 800-meter run.
