A visitor to Yellowstone National Park is dead after an encounter with a grizzly bear Wednesday morning. The incident occurred on the Wapiti Lake trail, which is located east of the Grand Loop Road south of Canyon Village.

State Superintendent of Public Instruction Cindy Hill

Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction Cindy Hill held a media conference Wednesday in Casper to announce the statewide results of the 2011 Proficiency Assessments for Wyoming Students, or PAWS.

Volunteers of America Northern Rockies has received two more $500,000 donations, one from Forrest Mars and one from The Daniels Fund, toward the $3.5 million fundraising campaign going to build a new men's substance abuse center, or Life House, in Sheridan.

Ranchester Town Councilwoman Samantha Nixon

The Ranchester Town Council has approved their budget for the fiscal year in the amount of $2.7 million. That number includes projects and one-cent optional monies, as the general fund budget that was adopted is $1.2 million.

Dayton Mayor Bob Wood

The Dayton Town Council approved a resolution that lists a prioritized list of projects that must be submitted to the SLIB Board as part of the $1.8 million in consensus funding that was approved by the legislature.

Jesse Salveson, 23, of Sheridan died from the results of his injuries from a gunshot wound he received during an officer involved shooting that occurred Monday, July 4th on west Nebraska Street in Sheridan, according to Deputy Coroner Kerrie Kimmel.
