Wilson Trust Property May Get a Makeover

The City of Sheridan intends to purchase the Wilson Land Trust property and lease it to the YMCA.

The Sheridan City Council approved a resolution authorizing submission of a grant application to the Wyoming Business Council that would allow for the City to purchase the Wilson Trust Property and lease it to the Sheridan County YMCA.

Author to Present Whitney Books Wednesday

Whitney Benefits will present its recently released books that detail the history of its foundation and its founder this Wednesday night at 7 pm at Sheridan College's CTEL center. Sam Western, author of both books, will give the presentation.

Miss Wyoming's Outstanding Teen

Miss Wyoming's Outstanding Teen 2011, Montana Sanners of Lander, was named one of five finalists for the Teens In Action Award at the Miss America's Outstanding Teen Pageant in Orlando. The award went to Miss Utah's Outstanding Teen, but Montana did receive the American Spirit Award.

Carl W. Rollins, 92, formerly of Sheridan, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2011 in Phoenix, AZ.

Services for Carl will be in Sheridan, WY, on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at 10:00 am at Kane Funeral Home.

Interment with Military Honors will be held at the Sheridan Elks Memorial Cemetery with a reception to be held at the Powder Horn.
