CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A Wheatland man faces life in prison when he goes before a judge for sentencing in the 2011 shooting deaths of his three young sons and his brother. Everett Conant III pleaded no-contest in June to the four killings and to a charge of attempted murder against his ex-wife, who also was wounded in the shootings at a Wheatland trailer park.
District Judge John Brooks of Douglas has scheduled a sentencing hearing for Conant for Tuesday afternoon in Wheatland. Prosecutors have agreed not to seek the death penalty against him.
