A favorable report from the Consensus Revenue Estimating Group, or CREG, which is a panel of financial experts from the legislative and executive branches of state government, means that Wyoming lawmakers will have more money to spend during the upcoming session than what had been anticipated. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has the story.

Adjusting two accounts of customers of the Sheridan Area Water Supply System was approved Wednesday by the SAWS Joint Powers Board. SAWS Project Manager Dan Coughlin says that the adjustments were made in accordance with their leak policy.

A University of Wyoming Geology and Geophysics graduate student was one of 14 scientists nationwide selected for the National Scientist Training Workshop. Will Fortin studied for 10 days in the Atlantic Ocean aboard the University of Rhode Island’s research vessel, the Endeavor.

The Sheridan Recreation District is planning a Holiday Inn Winter Shootout. The tournament will be held Dec. 21-22, but there's a $15 cut in the price if teams register by the end of the month. That brings the team cost down to $150. To reserve a spot, call 672-8931.

Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction Cindy Hill said it was great to be in Sheridan Tuesday to officially honor Fort McKenzie High School teacher Mick Wiest as Wyoming's 2014 Teacher of the Year. He's now in the running for national teacher of the year.
