Buffalo Woman Files Federal Appeal in Murder Case

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A Buffalo woman has filed a federal appeal challenging her murder conviction in the 2009 shooting death of her husband. Leah Benjamin is serving a state sentence of 20 to 30 years on a conviction of second-degree murder in the death of Donald Benjamin.

Funeral services for Jerry Atter, 85 year old long time Buffalo resident who passed away quietly at her home in Buffalo on Thursday afternoon, will be held Monday, June 3rd at 2:00 p.m. from the Harness Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dr. Bob Miller officiating. Visitation will be held from the funeral home chapel on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m.

Referendum Signatures Insufficient

The Wyoming Secretary of State's Office has announced that the petition filed earlier this week in regards to a proposed referendum on Senate Enrolled Act 1, originally known as Senate File 104, did not have the number of signatures required by the Wyoming Constitution.

Sex Offender Arraignment Postponed

An arraignment has been postponed for a Sheridan man accused of molesting a 10-year-old special needs girl whom he babysat. 59-year-old Robert Bell's arraignment was postponed Wednesday after his attorney asked the judge for a competency evaluation by the Wyoming State Hospital in Evanston.


2013 HOOP JAM - The annual 3 on 3 Hoop Jam basketball tournament starts it's two day run in Sheridan tomorrow.

For several year the tournament was played on Main street and Grinell Plaza downtown, a move to Whitney Plaza took place a few years ago and has worked much better for the organizers and contestants and nearly 150 teams will be competing this year event organizer Amanda Monterstelli.

Repair To Liner At Buffalo's Waste Water Plant Coming

Buffalo's waste water treatment plant will soon get the liner at one of the sewage lagoons repaired, according to City Works Director Les Hook, who informed the City Council of the agreement reached at their last meeting.
