UW Trustees Approve Budget Request With Merit Pay

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The University of Wyoming Board of Trustees is asking the state for about $14 million to raise faculty and staff salaries in the 2015-2016 budget. If approved by the Legislature, UW's request would equal about an average 4 percent pay raise.

Wilkerson Sentence: 20 To 40 Years In Prison

At his sentencing hearing this morning, Richard Cameron Wilkerson was sentenced to no less than 20 and no more than 40 years in prison after being convicted earlier this year of second degree murder in connection with the death of Brian Newman.

JETS DROP STATE OPENER / TROOPERS IN CASPER SATURDAY

SHERIDAN JETS/ STATE TOURNEY - The Wyoming American Legion "B" state tournament got underway yesterday the Sheridan Jets dropped their opening game against Casper 10-0 in the other game Cheyenne shut down Gillette winning 10-1.

Jets will play the late game tonight at 7:00 against Laramie. the first game today will be at 9:00 am with Cheyenne playing Jackson, Laramie and Casper play at noon, Jackson faces Gillette at 3:00.

The top four advance to bracket play with semi-finals Saturday the title game will be play Sunday.

On the Foundation Cements Another Success

A balmy summer eve lent itself to the 3rd annual “On the Foundation” fundraiser. Sheridan play-goers were treated to a night of five one-act plays, all done with local talent and all proceeds benefiting Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Bighorns.
