At approximately 6:41 pm Saturday, the Sheridan Police Department received a report of shots being fired at a residence on the 400 block of East Burkitt Street in Sheridan.

Man Accused of Abusing Glenrock Girl Gets Prison

GLENROCK, Wyo. (AP) - A Casper man accused of kidnapping and sexually abusing a Glenrock toddler has been sentenced to prison. Robert J. Parks has received concurrent sentences of to 44 to 50 years for first-degree sexual abuse of a minor and 60 years to life in prison for aggravated kidnapping.

Wyoming Workplace Deaths Reach 5-year High in 2012

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - Workplace fatalities in Wyoming reached the highest number in five years in 2012 but the number wasn't too much higher than the rate over the past several years.

Another Season Comes to an End

Another school year will begin in Sheridan in just a matter of days, which means that the season will come to an end for the Kendrick Park Pool, as today is the final day.

Edwin Johnson, 77, of Sheridan passed away on Friday, August 16, 2013 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Kane Funeral Home with Reverend Kevin Jones officiating. A reception will follow in the Kane Funeral Home Reception Hall.

Gov. Mead: Test Results a 'Cause for Concern'

The Wyoming Department of Education has released the test results for the state's student assessment showing and overall drop in scores during the 2012-2013 school year, compared to last year.

Sheridan Probation Officer Charged with Felony Count of Sexual Assault

Sheridan Probation and Parole Officer, Chris Yager, was charged this month with a felony count of sexual assault against a former client. Yager will appear before Circuit Court Judge Shelley Cundiff on Tuesday to answer to the charge.

UPDATE 3:49 P.M. Public Information Officer for the Wyoming Department of Corrections, Mark Horan, says Yager was placed on leave in May, as per rules for state personnel. His case is currently under review.

A probation officer with the Sheridan Probation and Parole Office and the Wyoming Department of Corrections, was charged this month with a count of sexual assault. Sheridan Media's Chris Foy has the story.
