Eagles Fall to Rocky Mountain

The Tongue River Eagles football team opened their season at home in Dayton Friday. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter was there and has the story.

What a Kick!

The Big Horn Rams kicked off their season at home Friday with an easy win against Greybull 55-25.

Big Horn Rolls Over Greybull 55 - 25

After keeping the ball and running for the first score less than 2-minutes into the game Big Horn Quarterback Connor McCafferty threw this touchdown pass to Senior Deven Ibach to make the score 13 to 0 with 8:35 to go in the 1st Quarter. The Rams never looked back as they went on to rout the Greybull Buffs 55 to 25 in the first home game of the season.

Sheldon Woodruff Johnson

Sheldon Woodruff Johnson, at 83 years old, traveled to his Lord on
August 26, 2013 while in Gustavus, Alaska. Sheldon and Billie, his
surviving wife, moved to Sheridan in 1984 from Pensacola, FL. and have
called Big Goose Road home since then. Sheldon was born in Pineville,
LA. where he remained until joining the Navy in 1947. He and Billie

Mary Jacqueline Rasmussen

Mary Jacqueline Rasmussen, better known as Jacque, passed away at her home in the early morning of Friday, September 6, 2013. Born on September 13, 1946, she was only sixty six years old. She is survived by her husband, Richard Rasmussen, of Parkman, WY; daughters Carol Schramm (Gilbert) of Newport, OR; and Erica Anderson (Birt) of Laramie WY; father and stepmother Carter and Maxine Nyquist of Sheridan, WY; stepfather and mother Herb and Mary Ellen Brown of Kissimmee, FL; four brothers, Bill, Pat, Mike, Tim Nyquist of Laramie, WY and a sister Dee of Altamonte Springs FL. She is also survived by her step brother Lester Brown of Casper, WY and many nieces and nephews.

Jacque should be remembered by her kind heart, her quick wit and quirky sense of humor, and her ability to solve any problem with the odds and ends she had at her fingertips. She had many artistic talents, loved words and the written language, as well as a finely tuned practical joke. We will miss her skills in cooking and sewing.

Jacque was active in her local church community and involved in the altar guild. She was a home maker most of her married life and was dedicated to her family. She and her husband raised two fantastic daughters and had a real loving relationship for 47 years.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made in her honor to the Sheridan County Dog and Cat Shelter at 84 East Ridge Road, Sheridan, WY or to a charity of your choice.

Karen Will

Karen Will, 66, of Sheridan, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at the Billings Clinic in Billings Montana with her loving husband by her side.

Karen was born on November 24, 1946 to Melvin and Dorothea (Fredrickson) Rank in Belle Fourche, SD. Karen grew up in the Gann Valley SD area. She married Rod Will on June 19, 1963, in Chamberlin, SD. Rod and Karen moved to Sheridan WY in 1969 where they remained to live their lives and raise their children. Rod and Karen recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their family. Karen was employed for many years at Pamida as their book keeper and spent the last several years employed with First Interstate Bank in Sheridan.
Karen lived life to the fullest with a beautiful smile and laugh that we will all miss. Karen enjoyed any and all activities that included her husband and family. She enjoyed riding on the Goldwing Trike with her husband. She also loved the Big Horn Mountains and camping, fishing, snowmobiling, boating, watching her husband, son, and grandson race cars and motorcycles, dancing a good polka, sewing, crocheting, cooking, and so many other activities that she never had a dull moment in her life. Her home was always open for friends and family, whom she loved very deeply.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Linda Volesky. She is survived by her husband, Rod, children; Tammi (Duane) Brunson and Jay (Molly) Will all of Sheridan, WY, grandchildren; Crystal (Gene) Admidin of ND, Cadie Brunson, Justin Will, and Mikayla Will all from Sheridan along with six great grandchildren, siblings; Mel Dean Rank, Melva Rank, and Chepa Rank, and step mother Nita Rank all from Fort Thompson SD.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Kane Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Miller officiating. A Reception will be held at the Kane Funeral Home following the service. Donations to honor Karen may be made to the Donor's choice.
