Options for buying and selling crops and livestock, market terminologies, and strategies for managing risks were on the table in a master marketer workshop yesterday (Thursday, Jan. 30) at the Watt Ag Center. The day-long event was hosted by the University of Wyoming Extension Service.

Gale Edward “Ed” Bocek, 55, of Sheridan, went home to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 28, 2014. He was born on September 19, 1958 to Frank and Eva Bocek. He was the youngest of five children. He married Dianne Brown in 2000. They later divorced but remained friends for the rest of his life.

Barbara Cherni, 64, of Sheridan, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, January 27, 2014. Private Services for Barbara will be held.

Memorials to honor Barbara may be made to the Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter at 84 East Ridge Road, Sheridan, WY 82801.

Hospital Receives $50k Grant

The Sheridan Memorial Hospital Foundation has received a grant of $50,000 from the Whedon Cancer Detection Foundation in support of preventative cancer screening and diagnostic testing at the hospital.

Dayton Council Reviews Grant Application

Dayton's town council will review the Tongue River Valley Joint Powers Board's application for state funds at the council meeting next week.
