Senator Announces Re-Election Bid

Wyoming State Senator for District 21, Bruce Burns, has announced that he will seek re-election in November. Burns says that his decision to run for his fourth term boiled down to his experience and desire to serve the people of Sheridan County and the state.

Locals Walk for Disability Awareness

The 10th annual Wyoming Walk for Disability Awareness will take place this weekend at various locations throughout the state. The walk in Sheridan is Saturday morning at the Sheridan Junior High School track.

Bantams Headed to National Youth Hockey Tourney

The Team Wyoming 14U Boys hockey team is headed to Hackensack, NJ April 2-6 for the USA Hockey Tier II National Hockey Tournament. These young men, 13 & 14 years old from Casper (C), Gillette (G), Jackson (J), Rock Springs (RS) and Sheridan (S) will represent Wyoming and the Wyoming Amateur Hockey Association (WAHA) as select players who were chosen in August 2013.

Public Input Open House Set For Proposed Dog Park

After the recommendation of the Buffalo City Council, the Vision Buffalo Commission (VBC) will have a public meeting open house on a proposed dog park, scheduled for Tuesday, April 8th from 4:30 to 6pm at Buffalo's City Hall.

Flood Outlook For Johnson County Moderate to High

The National Weather Service this week released their latest information concerning the possibility of flooding during this spring's snow melt runoff, and so far it is staying at a moderate to moderately high chance through April for central and southern Johnson County.

Funeral Services for Tommy Balden, of Buffalo, who passed through the veil into eternity in the early morning hours of March 21, 2014, just eight days short of his 86th birthday, will be held Thursday March 27th at 10:00 a.m. the LDS Church in Buffalo with Bishop Kade Caturia officiating. Visitation will be held at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Hugh Owen Jones, 84, of Kirby, Montana, died Saturday, March 22, 2014 in Westview Health Care Center.

Mr. Jones was born September 1, 1929 in Sheridan, Wyoming to Hubert Hugh and Gertrude (Owen) Jones. He was the first of four boys. His brothers were Gregg L., Robert Dale, and Paul V. Jones.

Mass of Christian Burial for Johnny Nelson, 87 year old Buffalo man who passed away Tuesday morning at the Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo, will be celebrated Friday March 28th at 10:00 a.m. from the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Buffalo with Father Peter Johnson as celebrant. Visitation will be held from the Harness Funeral Home on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
