Air Service Team's Negotiating with Another Carrier

A local group is negotiating with another air service carrier to fly commercial flights out of Sheridan. Leslie Stratmoen has the update.

Disaster Recovery Center Opens In Buffalo

During their news conference Monday, Officials with FEMA, the State Homeland Security Office and the Johnson County Emergency Management Office announced that a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) would open in Buffalo Tuesday morning, and remain open for the foreseeable future.

Former Sheridan College rodeo star wins $100K at Calgary Stampede

Former Sheridan College rodeo student-athlete Zeke Thurston’s wallet got a little bit thicker — OK, a lot thicker — on Sunday after winning the saddle bronc title at the Calgary Stampede, one of the largest rodeos in North America.

Thurston received a check for $100,000. He recorded rides of 88.50 and 90.50 before winning the championship with an 88.50 in a ride-off, final round with two other riders.

“I don’t know what I will do with it yet. That’s a lot of money to think about,” Thurston said on Monday.

Secretary of State’s Office Certifies Cannabis Ballot Initiative Application

The Secretary of State’s office has certified the application for a ballot initiative to legalize medical marijuana in the state, called The Peggy A. Kelley Wyoming Cannabis Act of 2016.

A local woman has been named the new director of the Sheridan Health Care System. The health care system’s associate director of patient support services and nurse executive Dr. Kathy Berger is the new director.
