City Councilor Discusses Franchise Agreements

The issue of franchise agreements between the City of Sheridan and A-C-T and Charter Communications first came before the city council at their May 19 meeting. Since that time, the ordinances establishing the agreements have been tabled a couple of times.

UW Receives Major Research Instrumentation Award

The University of Wyoming is acquiring equipment that will more accurately measure aquifer levels in the ground. The university has received a major instrument award in the amount of $400,000, to purchase a borehole nuclear magnetic instrument.

Senior Center is Lending Out Bikes

The Senior Center has opened a unique lending operation as a new service to our community. The center is lending out bicycles to anyone 18 and over in Sheridan for free and yes, they will have to be returned. Fun Director Jane Perkins gave the details.

Senior Olympics Snag

Only two teams played in the mixed doubles category of the Senior Olympics.

A lack of interest or a lack of organization, but there seems to be no explanation for the lack of attendance at the Senior Olympics being held in Sheridan.

State double "AA" American Legion baseball in Sheridan July 28th / Rockies at SD tonight / Summer Slam volleyball

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers have a tournament in Jackson to play this weekend before returning to Thorne-rider stadium for two big home games with Cheyenne and Gillette Tuesday and Wednesday next week.

The Troopers will host the state tournament starting on July 28th, Head coach Ben Phillips says the next ten days are big for the players to build some momentum going into the state championships.

And Phillips says all the teams in the tournament are going to have to contend with the big three.
