Parents Found Guilty of Child Abuse

After five days, the child abuse trial for Sheridan County residents Michael Tibbets and Donna Gifford came to a close Friday in District Court in Sheridan. After the jury spent two and a half hours in deliberations, they came back with a guilty verdict for both parents on all three charges.

Vincent Eugene “Gene” McNair

Vincent Eugene “Gene” McNair, 92, of Sheridan, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at the Westview Health Care Center. He was born on September 30, 1923, in Sheridan to parents Clyde and Ethel (Richards) McNair, being their sixth of eight children born to them. He graduated from Sheridan High School in June of 1941. He married his wife Ruby in April of 1964.

Witness Testimony in Sheridan Child Abuse Case Continues to be Disturbing

Witness testimony in the child abuse trial going on this week in Sheridan District Court continues to be disturbing. A case worker, teachers and a foster parent of two of the three children involved have painted a picture of Donna Gifford and Michael Tibbets as hoarders who were raising their children in a filthy trailer home piled with dirty laundry, rotten food and animal waste, and making them fend for themselves.
