UPDATE: No one was injured in a house fire that occurred in the early morning hours Wednesday.

The two-day Legislative Forum sponsored by the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee wrapped up Wednesday at Sheridan City Hall. Our local legislators will now get ready for the upcoming Budget Session that gets underway February 8 in Cheyenne.

Wyoming Governor Matt Mead’s budget proposal for the biennium includes a reduction of $90 million in local operating funds, which is a 50 percent reduction in total local appropriations from the last biennium.

Title 25, the state statute that allows law enforcement or medical professionals to order an involuntary hospitalization of an individual if they appear to be a threat to themselves or others, was once again a topic of discussion at Wednesday’s Legislative Forum in Sheridan.
