Training Will Remain Paid Through Police, Sheriff's Budgets

Training of officers and sheriff's deputies will continue to be paid out of the Buffalo Police Department and Johnson County Sheriff's Office budgets, after discussions during a recent meeting of the Criminal Justice Center Joint Powers Board.

Public Health Nurse On STD's, TB Testing Issues

Johnson County has recently had an increase in the number of reported Sexually-Transmitted Diseases (STD's), according to Public Health Nurse Trisha Thompson.
She gave the report to the Board of Health at their recent quarterly meeting.

County Lifts Hiring Freeze To Replace Employee

Johnson County's Commissioners have voted to lift a hiring freeze in the county to allow the hiring of a new employee in the facilities department to replace one that has given their notice to leave.
