Reception Held for Lion Dogs

The lion dogs that formerly stood at the entrance to Sheridan's Kendrick Park were officially welcomed to their new home at Sheridan College with a reception Thursday night.

3rd Annual Strike Out Cancer on Sunday

November, which is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, is now over but the fight against that disease is not. Locals Sarah Richter and Jami Kukal have been holding an annual fundraiser dubbed Strike Out Cancer since 2014 to raise awareness and funds for the fight against pancreatic cancer.

NSI Employees to Participate in Training

Sheridan’s Normative Services Inc. provides services for at-risk, adjudicated, and emotionally disturbed youth. According to Ethan Manning, Group Living Director at NSI, all of their 100 plus staff members will go through training within the next 60 days.

Empower WY Self Defense Workshop on December 20

On Tuesday, December 20 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Empower WY will host another Self Defense Workshop class at the Bethesda Worship Center at 5135 Coffeen Avenue. Women of all abilities are welcome and the minimum age of those participating is 14.

Jesse M. Athey, 73, of Sheridan, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at the VA Medical Center.

Jesse was born on July 20, 1943, to Alva and Mildred (Flately) Muzzey in Alliance, NE. He was adopted by Ross and Armenta Athey in 1955. He was in the Alliance and Hemingford, NE area.
