City, Firefighters Reach Contract Agreement

Sheridan city councilors and city firefighters agreed Monday night on a one-year contract that council members hope to approve at their meeting on May 16.

Now keep in mind, in those days Lander was a big town in Wyoming. It was bigger than Gillette, Douglas, Cody, Riverton, Green River, Evanston, Rawlins, Worland, Jackson, Powell and Buffalo. Today, most of those towns are bigger than Lander or about the same size.

University of Wyoming Debate Team members Hunter McFarland, of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Mary Marcum, of Omaha, Nebraska, recently advanced to the elimination rounds at the National Debate Tournament in Binghamton, New York.

Camp 2 Rotation

April 30, 2016 – Camp 2 Rotation. We left to Camp 1 about 2:50 am working our way through the ice-fall arriving in Camp 1 at 7:30 am. Camp 1 is situated on the Khumbo glacier between Nuptse and the West Buttress of Everest.

SC Generals Rodeo results

The Sheridan College Rodeo Team headed to Laramie for the last college rodeo of the 2015-2016 season.

We had a strong showing at UW with both the Men’s and the Women’s team placing 3rd at the rodeo. We had three individuals qualify for the CNFR.

Local Youth Volleyball Champs

The Sheridan Volleyball Club U14 Yellow team won the U14 Bronze bracket at Volleyfest this past weekend, April 30th & May 1st in Billings.

106 teams from Montana, Wyoming, Illinois and South Dakota competed at the Billings Metra Expo Center.
