Buffalo's Memorial Day Observances Feature State Treasurer

The Memorial Day observances in Buffalo were highlighted by an address given by Wyoming State Treasurer Mark Gordon of Buffalo, who returned home for the weekend to help remember those that have died serving in the armed forces of the United States.

The 33rd Annual Buffalo Lions Club Lake DeSmet Fishing Derby came to a close Monday after what appears to be another fun and successful run, at least according to Buffalo Lions Club President Adam Teeten, who spoke to Sheridan Media Monday afternoon as the derby was starting to wind down.

County Signs MOU's, Agreements For Public Health

Johnson County's Commissioners reviewed and voted for Chairman Bill Novotny to sign a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) between themselves and the Wyoming State Department of Health and the State Attorney General's Office to jointly provide public health services to the residents of the county.

Troopers Lose Final Game of Wood Bat Tournament

After winning two and loosing two the Sheridan Troopers Baseball Team has lost their final game of the Gillette Spring Classic Wood Bat Tournament to Rapid City, SD 4-3.

Friday they beat the Gillette Roughriders 4-2 and then on Saturday they handled Rock Springs 7-3. During a double header on Sunday they lost first to Laurel, Mt 6-0 and then again to Spearfish, SD 5-4.

Sheridan VFW Memorial Day BBQ

The Sheridan VFW put on a Memorial Day BBQ for the community Monday afternoon. All were welcome to enjoy the burgers and dogs on the VFW patio. Jake Blumenstock the VFW’s incoming Quartermaster.

Post Everlasting Ceremony at Sheridan Municipal Cemetary

In honor of Memorial Day, many gathered at the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery for a Post Everlasting Ceremony on Monday to honor the veterans that have passed on in the last year. Army Major Chaplin Randy Sawyer.

Wreath Laying Ceremony at Sheridan County Courthouse

After a parade came down Sheridan’s Main Street Monday morning, there was a Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Sheridan County Courthouse in honor of Memorial Day. Many people came to help honor the veterans that have passed on including Sheridan Mayor John Heath.

Memorial Day Parade

Several people gathered on Sheridan’s Main Street Monday morning to see the Memorial Day Parade. The parade started at Wells Fargo and traveled to the Sheridan County Courthouse. There were veteran motorcyclists, Kalif Shrine Veterans, many color guards and the crowd favorite Drum and Bugle Corps.

Story fire crews responded to a report of smoke from a house on Wagon Box Road shortly before 6:30 a.m. Monday.
