Governor Mead Announces State Fire Marshal Retirement

State Fire Marshal Lanny Applegate has been in his position since 2006 but he has now retired. Governor Mead appointed Michael Reed to replace Applegate beginning July 1. Mead claims that he chose Reed due to his extensive experience in law enforcement, administration, and emergency response.

Kid's Fishing Day on the Bighorn National Forest July 9

Young anglers will have the opportunity to fish and learn about the environment on July 9 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Porcupine Ranger Station pond for Kids' Fishing Day.

Sheridan County School District 2 will host a second Summer Institute later this month to share information about the use of professional learning communities in public schools.

Troopers Split Two With Gillette / Trooper Youth Camp Opens Today / Rockies win at SF / Wyoming High Schools Face the Music

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers split two games with Gillette Tuesday night the Troops took game one 11-5 and Gillette won the second game 13-5 the Troopers are now 33-20 overall and are off until Saturday when they host a double header at 1:00 with Laurel, Montana.

The Troopers open their youth baseball camp today the camp runs through Friday from 9:00 to 1:00 each day at Thorne-Rider stadium the camp will culminate with a Wiffleball tournament.
