$150,000 Bond Set for Sheridan Man Charged With Second Degree Murder

Sheridan County Circuit Court Judge Shelley Cundiff set a $150,000 cash bond Monday for 41-year-old Sheridan resident Christopher Fisher, who’s charged with Second Degree Murder for allegedly killing his wife, 40-year-old Martha Bailey at their home on East Burkitt Street Friday night in Sheridan.

People who wonder how cattle are prepared for a show could satisfy their curiosity at the beef fitting contest Monday at the Sheridan County Fair.

4th Annual Best of the West BBQ Fest Starts Cooking Saturday

On Saturday, the 4th Annual Best of the West BBQ Fest will take place in Sheridan’s Whitney Plaza parking lot. This KCBS sanctioned BBQ competition will host entries from all over the region competing for cash and prizes in four BBQ categories.

August Chamber Luncheon Scheduled for Wednesday

The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce will host its monthly luncheon at 11:30 on Wednesday at Sheridan’s Holiday Inn. Dixie Johnson, CEO of the Chamber, said the program will be geared towards graduation rates.

Elmer L. Schaffer Jr., 78, of Sheridan, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Westview Health Care Center. He was born November 21, 1937 in Ritzville, WA to Elmer F. and Mary (Weitzel) Schaffer. He attended schools in Sheridan and after high school he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served in North Africa and other overseas stations from 1954 to 1958.
