The newest sculpture in downtown Sheridan has an auspicious name, according to Kate Harrington.

The arts in Sheridan were celebrated Monday night with a reception in honor of the new show in the SAGE Community Arts Center Gallery as well as the unveiling of Sheridan's newest piece of sculpture at the corner of Main and Brundage streets.

Dining for a Cause Packs 'em In for the Arts

Diners flocked to Frackelton's restaurant in downtown Sheridan again Monday for this month's Dining for a Cause to benefit Sheridan's arts.

Smokey Farris

Private family interment for Smokey Farris, 88 year old Buffalo resident who passed away Sunday evening at the Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo, will be held by his family in the Highland Cemetery in Casper. Donations in Mr. Farris’ memory may be made to the Shriner’s Crippled Children’s Hospital in care of the Harness Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo.

County Sheriff Resigns

Sheridan County Sheriff Dave Hofmeier has announced he will resign from his position effective June 30.

Funeral services for Eugene Songer, 88 year old Buffalo resident who passed away suddenly at the Veteran’s Home of Wyoming on Saturday the 31st of December, will be held from the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheridan on May 1st at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Phil Wold officiating. Interment will be in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery, with long time family friend, Pastor Dave Gunderson officiating.

Banff Mountain Film Fest

The Sheridan WYO Theater and the Wyoming Wilderness Association will have their annual showings from the Banff Mountain Film Festival Tuesday night at the WYO.

Saturday Fire Results in No Injuries

Over the weekend crews from several Sheridan County emergency response teams were dispatched to a report of a structure fire. Captain Gary Harnish with Sheridan Fire and Rescue said there were no injuries reported.
