County Presents Budget for Fiscal 2017/18

County commissioners presented the budget for the year that started July 1 to a nearly empty room in a public hearing Monday night.

Commissioners Authorize New Hires for Sheriff's Office

Sheridan County commissioners Monday approved a request from Sheriff Allen Thompson to fill open positions in the sheriff's department, including permission to fill open positions in the detention department on a continual basis rather than requesting to fill one position at a time.

James Thomas Bohn, 86 passed away Friday, July 14, 2017. He was born in Buffalo, WY on June 18, 1931.

Jim proudly served his country in the Air Force being stationed in Guam and completing his military service with the Wyoming National Guard and the Wyoming Army Reserve.

Roy Duane Ekwall

Roy Ekwall passed away on July 14, 2017. A proud Wyoming Native, he was born in Sheridan on September 8, 1931. Roy served in the Army during the Korean war, was a longtime member of the Big Horn Mountain Eagles which included serving as State President, belonged to the American Legion, VFW and Elks. Roy was a jack of all trades and a master at working with his hands.

Linda Mitchell, 60, passed away unexpectedly on July 16, 2017. She was born to the late Lloyd Harrington and Monica Harrington in Salina, KS, on September 9, 1956. She graduated from Sheridan High School in Sheridan, Wyoming in 1974. She married Alvin Mitchell on February 4th, 1974. They lived together for 43 years in Sheridan, WY.
