“Down on the Farm” Featured at Tidbit Tuesday

A good crowd of adults and children turned out for this month’s Tidbit Tuesday at the Sheridan County Museum. Curator of Education, Shawna Michelena said Tuesday’s focus was on heirloom gardening.

Achord Joins District 2 Board of Trustees

Craig Achord, who was defeated in his bid for a return to Sheridan County School District 2 last year, was appointed Tuesday night to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Mike Sweeney.

County Adopts Partial Fire Restrictions

Effective starting at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, discharge of all fireworks in Sheridan County is prohibited.

Roger Eugene Haley, hero, husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and loyal friend, joined his loved ones in heaven Thursday, June 8th, 2017. A Celebration of Roger’s life will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheridan, followed by a luncheon at the Parish Center.

G and F Offer AIS Training to the Public

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department will host an AIS Training for the public on Saturday at the Sheridan Office on East 5th street.

Small Fire in the Bighorn National Forest

Today, firefighters responded to a small lightning caused fire in the Bighorn National Forest. Located north of the Big Goose Ranger Station in the Tongue Ranger District, the small blaze was dubbed the Big Goose Fire. Four firefighters will have it contained by Tuesday afternoon.

Kenneth Robert “Buck” Buchan

Kenneth Robert “Buck” Buchan, 92, of Sheridan passed away at his home on Thursday, July 13, 2017 surrounded by his family.

Buck was born on March 9, 1925 to William and Ermil (Spillman) Buchan in Caldwell, ID. He married Mabel Moore on July 1, 1944. They raised four children. Buck enjoyed hunting, gardening, morning coffee with his friends, tinkering in his shed, and having a beer.

Trident Theatre Presents First Full Length Production

Sheridan’s Trident Theatre Company will present “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) [Revised]” as their first full-length production.

Contract Approved for Council Chambers Upgrades

A contract was awarded Monday night by the Sheridan City Council that will facilitate upgrades to the audio/visual equipment in Council Chambers. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
