Legislature’s Auditing Committee Works Behind Closed Doors

On the last day of the 2017 General Session of the Wyoming Legislature, the entire House of Representatives retreated behind closed doors to discuss negotiations with its Senate counterparts. Last week, a legislative committee with special secrecy privileges had a closed meeting in this same room at the temporary capitol in the Jonah Business Center in Cheyenne. (Andrew Graham/WyoFile) Lawmakers last Wednesday voted to withhold from the public a report on the effectiveness of a state program for treating developmental disabilities in children.

County Courthouse to Close on Aug. 21

The Sheridan County Courthouse will close from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m. on Aug. 21 to give county employees an opportunity to view the partial solar eclipse that will be visible in Sheridan.

Graveside Funeral services for Irvin Nielsen, 48 year old Buffalo man who passed away Friday at the Johnson County Health Care Center in Buffalo, will be held Friday, July 28th at 2:00 p.m. in Willow Grove Cemetery with Reverend Vernon Strickland officiating. Visitation will be held from the Harness Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m.

Funeral services for Kaycyn (Kynlee) Christensen, 15 year old Kaycee youth who passed away Friday in Kaycee will be held Wednesday, July 26th at 10:00 a.m. from the Harold Jarrard Park Building in Kaycee with Reverend Danny Davis officiating. Visitation will be held from the Harness Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Kenneth George Putzi, 83, of Sheridan, passed peacefully on Friday, July 21, 2017, at the Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo. Ken was born on January 30, 1934 in Warren, Alberta, Canada, to John H. and Sophie (Schmid) Putzi, immigrants of Switzerland and Germany, respectively. German was his first language. Ken and his four siblings were raised on the family farm.
