Winners Drawn in Raffle to Benefit Cardiac Care

Sheridan Memorial Hospital trustee Ron Mischke won the custom fly and rod and two-person float trip in the Rex Martin Memorial Raffle held earlier this month to benefit the hospital's cardiac care programs.

Rex Lowell Martin, 72, of Sheridan, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

A celebration of Rex's life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Kane Funeral Home with Reverend Kevin Jones officiating. A reception will follow in the Kane Reception Hall.

John H. Walter, 83, of Story, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at his daughter's residence.

John was born on July 28, 1934 to parents Charles Howard and Nellie Florence (Bace) Walter in Rago, KA. He grew up in Southern California, Pomona. He enlisted in the Navy July 28, 1951 – July 22, 1954 where he was on the USS Cisco Bay.

Margaret Olava (Peterson) Stender, 90, of Sheridan, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Westview Health Care Center. She was born March 20, 1927 in Havre, Montana to Walter Palmer and Gertrude (Hoyum) Peterson. Margaret graduated for Havre High School. Due to hardscrabble conditions, Margaret and her sister, Avis lived as young girls in Havre to attend school.

Sheridan City Finance And Administrative Services Director Retires

Sheridan’s City Finance and Administrative Services Director Jim Harmon retired from his position on Friday after serving with the City for 19 months. Harmon came down to Sheridan after working in Cascade County, Montana. He has 40 years of government accounting and budget experience.
