Elks State Hoop Shoot Results

The Wyoming State Elks Hoop Shoot was held Saturday in Casper.

Ella Belyeu, in the 8-9 girls division, and Mark Gilbert, in the 12-13 boys division had previously won the Sheridan Hoop Shoot and the District Hoop Shoot to qualify for state.

Ella placed first with a score of 17/25. Mark was third with a score of 16/25.

Ella has now qualified to participate at the Regional Hoop Shoot in Denver on March 17.

The Regional Hoop Shoot includes the state winners from Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska, and Kansas.

Weekend Local Sports Wrap up

STATE SWIMMING / DIVING - The Sheridan Broncs finished 6th at the Wyoming state swimming and diving championships Oscar Patton was the state champion in the 100 free and Caleb Johannesmeyer made all state as well with a 3rd place finish in the 100 fly all three Bronc relays finished in the top 6.

WRESTLING - The Bronc wrestlers finished 3rd in their conference tournament in all 20 broncs have qualified for the state tournament.

The all class Wyoming state wrestling championships start Friday at the Casper events center.

Bill seeks work requirements for some Medicaid recipients

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A bill before the Wyoming Legislature would impose work requirements on at least 2,500 Medicaid recipients.

Senate File 97 won an introductory vote in the Senate last week.
